Resource - Translated Videos

This is a collection of videos with Japanese content that have English subtitles, dubbing, or live translation. Essentially, content provided by the Japanese Mahjong scene that is viewable without knowing Japanese. If you know of any others, let me know and I'll add them.

Secrets of Iishanten - A 9-dan player talking about the four different types of iishanten, their acceptance and ranking, and what to discard to achieve them. The subtitles are pending approval, so if they're not there when you click the video, check this link instead.

Secrets of Pinfu Part 1 and Part 2 - Discussions with a Japanese Pro Mahjong League player about the best discards to get pinfu with various hands. Sort of like WWYD problems.

Mahjong no Takumi - A pro player talks through all the things he thinks about during a hand. Note that a lot of this stuff is very high level. Any reads he does on the players' discards are unlikely to work at levels below high Tokujou or maybe even Houou. Discard reading relies on your opponents playing optimally, and traps based on your discards relies on your opponents paying attention to your discards. So, don't try to emulate that in your games if you're not at that level! Only the first few videos are subtitled for now.

Mahjong no Ooi - Similar to the above video, but with a different pro! Only the first video is translated so far.

The Game of Saki and Akagi: Mondo Women's Mahjong Championship Vol.1 and Vol.2 - These are VoDs from a Japanese tournament that have English commentators, which is quite rare. Don't expect super insightful commentary, but it's in English at least.
