Interesting Replays

Doing analysis on the Houou replays sometimes results in some strange discoveries. I'll add to this list whenever I find one.

This replay has a broken riichi. The player calls riichi after discarding the tile instead of before.

This replay is the one instance in my deal-in dataset where the fourth dora dragon deals into a riichi.

  1. Am I missing something? In the 3x yakuman round, the dealer drops the west seat's winning 7s tile, but they pass on the win, right after calling on the 7p. Is there a reason they would do that, or was it just a mistake?

    1. It's a tonpu, so that's the final round. If they call ron, they don't get enough points to get out of fourth, so they have to pass.
