Exercise - Scoring Training

This exercise is to ensure you can quickly calculate the score of your hand, which makes push/pull decisions faster. It also lets you recall the score table faster, which helps with All Last situations. This exercise is from Week 1.

Without using a scoring table for reference, play through the Maru-jan Score Trainer.

The exercise is complete when you get X questions in a group of 15 correct in a row. Your starting goal for this exercise can be set to whatever you feel comfortable with. For me, I started at six. However, if you meet your goal in the first session of a given day, the goal increases by one, until you need 15 correct in a row to succeed.

Once you can accurately tell the score of all the hands, you should work on doing it faster. At the end of the 15, it tells you your average answer time. Set your goal to be a second lower than what you can do already, and continue working it down day by day. Dasuke's goal for himself is to be under six seconds average answer time, but feel free to stop at something more reasonable like ten.
